Where Outlook Express stores the messages and folder?

All Outlook Express messages and folders stored in one folder, called the Store Folder. You can find out the location of Store Folder in the main menu of Outlook Express: select Tools | Options … item on the Maintenance tab, you should press the Store Folder button. The location of Outlook Express data files is different for each user registered on one computer. If you do not know the location of dbx files, you can search for them using the search feature in Windows Explorer.

How to move the saved messages to Outlook Express?

N.B.: The Outlook Express folder to which you will be moving the messages must function normally, i.e. if the folder is damaged you must do the following at first:
  1. Recover the messages from Outlook Express using Easy Outlook Express Repair.
  2. Save the recovered messages to the hard drive.
  3. Back up the damaged .dbx file.
  4. Delete the damaged .dbx file.
  5. Run Outlook Express and click the corresponding folder, required .dbx file will be created automatically.

The saved messages can be moved/copied to Outlook Express one by or at once. To move/copy one message, double-click to open it and select the menu item either File | Move to Folder... or File | Copy to Folder... respectively. To move a few messages to Outlook Express at once you should:
Select the messages you want to move using Ctrl and mouse buttons or Shift and cursor buttons on the keyboard. Use your mouse to drag the selected messages to the required Outlook Express folder. When moving a few messages at once, it is recommended to have Outlook Express on left part of screen, and Windows Explorer on right part of it.

I received the registration key, double-clicked it and got the message: 'The information from the key.reg has been successfully entered into the registry', but when I run Easy Outlook Express Repair, the program remains in the Demo Version.

The file with the registration key contains the information that is entered into the registry of your operating system. You can check if the information from the registration file was successfully entered into the registry. To do that, you should:
    1. Press the Start button and select the Run item.
    2. Type "regedit.exe" and press Enter or click OK.
    3. In the Registry Tree select the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" key and expand it.
    4. Find and expand the Software key.
    5. Find and expand the "Easy Outlook Express Repair" key.
    6. To the right you should see the value named key having a long string of data.
There can be a number of reasons why entering the information into the registry failed:
A) You do not have access permissions to enter information into the registry on this computer.
B) The file with the registration key has been damaged.
Having no [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Easy Outlook Express Repair] key in the registry and no key value that equals to a long code string, Easy Outlook Express Repair will remain in the Demo mode.

I have tried your program. The source DBX file is now smaller, why?

You may have used the Compact feature in Outlook Express or some other software trying to recover the file. Using the Compact feature in Outlook Express deletes messages from DBX files. Easy Outlook Express Repair neither modifies nor changes source DBX files. Easy Outlook Express Repair only reads DBX files and extracts messages from them as .eml files. You can try to restore the source DBX file from the latest backup copy. Please back up DBX files before using other software.
